Accompanying children's play - what makes sense?
Prof. Dr Oskar Jenni has headed the Department of Developmental Paediatrics at the University Children's Hospital Zurich since 2005; the paediatrician and adolescent medicine specialist is also Associate Professor of Developmental Paediatrics ad personam at the University of Zurich. His areas of research include sleep behaviour in childhood and the motor, cognitive and social development of healthy and sick children.

In his lecture, Oskar Jenni explains why children play from an evolutionary-biological and brain-physiological perspective and explains the various forms and characteristics of play as well as children's willingness to play. The developmental paediatrician also sheds light on the different roles that parents and carers can play in supporting children's play.
