3 tips for teachers for more confidence in dealing with parents
Working with parents has become more demanding in recent decades. Many teachers feel underprepared to conduct parent-teacher conferences. Conversations in which answers often have to be found to very important and urgent questions in a very short space of time, which puts everyone involved under pressure.
The episode shows concrete examples of how you as a teacher can improve your relationship with parents and conduct successful parent-teacher dialogues.
You will learn:
- What really matters at parents' evenings.
- Why it is so important that you take more interest in the parents at the parent-teacher conference and inform them less - and how you can achieve this by preparing yourself for what you want to ask instead of what you want to say.
- How you can get parents on board in the event of difficulties and work together for a child instead of getting lost in mutual recriminations.

In the following episodes, we try to find answers to very specific questions:
- What makes a good school? (Episode 1)
- How can I gain more confidence when working with parents?
- How do I motivate my students - without rewards and punishments?
- How do I give effective feedback?
- How do I promote my students' self-efficacy?
- And many more...
