«When the children go home singing, my goal has been achieved»
Part 3: Fabian Wiesmann, class teacher and percussionist, Zurich-Stadt
Fabian Wiesmann is involved in school with humour and a good sense of rhythm. He is a class teacher and drummer for his 5th grade class at the In der Ey school in Zurich. He decided to change careers and become a teacher after more than ten years in the media sector.
For Fabian Wiesmann, it is important to pursue an activity that is sustainable and meaningful: "Working with children fulfils me and gives my work a greater sense of purpose. For him, a successful day is when the pupils have learnt something new and he can test this knowledge. For example, when a particular song has stuck in the class's ears after a music lesson and they go home singing or whistling.
