«We are often asked if we are sisters»
Kaja: "My best friend is Giulia. We've shared hobbies since we were little. We did acrobatics together for years and later went to circus school. We discovered our passion for horse riding five years ago. I was able to celebrate my ninth birthday at a riding centre. It was clear to us then that we wanted to learn to ride. Since then, we've been allowed to go to a riding camp for a week every year during the summer holidays. That's great!
Giulia and I have often been asked if we are sisters. It's not just because of our looks, we're also very similar in our mannerisms. We often have the same views, like the same films and read the same books. Most of them are about horses. But we also enjoy baking or simply going shopping.
For me, friendship means that you trust each other, tell each other the truth and support each other.
For me, a good friend like Giulia is someone with whom I can be who I am. I can rely on her and she always understands me - someone you can steal horses with. For me, friendship means that you trust each other , tell each other the truth and support each other, no matter where you are. I am therefore very reliable, helpful and loyal in friendships.
I think that in a friendship between girls, there is much more talk about feelings, experiences and problems than in a friendship between boys. With boys, the focus is on having fun, they don't want to show weakness and therefore don't talk about personal things as much."
Trust each other, laugh and stick together
Giulia: "My closest friends are Kaja and Leslie. But I also have lots of other good friends. We like to go horse riding together, do acrobatics, go to the cinema or to the gelateria. My best friend Kaja and I have a lot in common, especially our hobbies. We think we're just super great friends!
Our parents and two younger siblings are also friends because they have always been involved in our activities. However, we don't always have the same opinion, but we never actually argue. When I once had an argument with a colleague, we talked about it and decided together to forget about it. I always like to talk about things like that because I don't like having long arguments. I'm actually always open and don't hold grudges.
Boys are more open and more likely to speak their mind, but girls are more emotional.
In friendships, it's important to me that you can trust each other, that you listen to each other when you have problems, that you can laugh about everything and that you stick together. In my opinion, boys are more open and more likely to speak their mind than girls, which I actually find better in boys. On the other hand, girls are generally more emotional than boys.
If you find it difficult to make friends because you're too shy yourself, you should ask someone out or ask something. If you are unpopular, I would first think about my behaviour. Maybe you should be a little more open and tolerant or have fewer prejudices."
