Is sport good for children? How much sleep does my child need? Does music make children smarter? The «Kosmos Kind» lecture series provides well-founded answers to these and other questions. In dialogue with the audience, renowned experts provide exciting insights from science and practice on various aspects of childhood - in a way that is understandable and relevant to everyday life.
The presentations are aimed at parents, teachers and carers as well as anyone who looks after the interests of children and young people. After their presentations, the experts will be available to answer individual questions from the audience. Click here for the 2024 programme.

Doors open at 6.00 pm. The events start at 6.30 pm with the expert's presentation. You will then have the opportunity to ask questions. Each event lasts around 90 minutes.
The venues are the auditorium of the «Stiftung. For the child. Giedion Risch» at Falkenstrasse 26 in 8008 Zurich (2nd floor) and the Kulturpark, Pfingstweidstrasse 16 in 8005 Zurich (ground floor). Both venues are wheelchair accessible.

Three questions for Oskar Jenni
The establishment of the academy is based on the commitment of Monica Giedion Risch, who founded the «Stiftung. For the child» in 2018. The focus of all our projects is the promotion of child development. Above all, our academy is committed to ensuring that the great diversity of children is more widely accepted and appreciated in society. Every child is different - and this variability should not be seen as a source of insecurity, but as an enrichment.
Under this guiding principle, we at the Academy bring together the wealth of knowledge on child development from many different disciplines and use it to offer different target groups practical, easy-to-understand information. It is particularly important to me that we work together - across the boundaries of different scientific disciplines - to promote the interests of children.
The lectures will address very different aspects of childhood. I am delighted that we have been able to attract a number of renowned experts from various disciplines - including neuropsychology and media psychology, developmental paediatrics and psychology, education, philosophy and economics.
For all those who deal with children and young people in their private or professional lives and are looking for well-founded answers. This could be parents, but also professionals from educational, therapeutic or clinical fields. The aim of «Kosmos Kind» is to fulfil their information needs with an interdisciplinary range of topics.
