Healthy nutrition for children - right from the start
Healthy eating is a challenge today - for children and adults alike, says paediatrician Carsten Posovszky. One consequence of this is that «intestinal diseases in children have increased», says the Head of the Department of Gastroenterology and Nutrition at the University Children's Hospital Zurich. What can be done? «We need a healthy nutritional environment for children and young people, and we can only tackle this together.» In his Kosmos Kind lecture, the expert shows how such an environment can be created and provides practical insights and tips.
Breastfeeding and nutrition are important for healthy development
The influence of breastfeeding and nutrition during childhood on a healthy life is also significant. This has been proven by numerous studies. However: «Nutritional recommendations are sometimes not implemented sufficiently,» explains Carsten Posovszky.
Malnutrition is not only caused by malnutrition and obesity, but also by a lack of nutrients.
Malnutrition is not only characterised by malnutrition and obesity, but also by a lack of nutrients («hidden hunger»). In the Kosmos Kind lecture, Carsten Posovszky also provides insights into the latest findings on child nutrition. He shows how forms of nutrition, such as a vegan diet, influence health.
