Psychologist Matthias Huber has Asperger syndrome himself and therefore knows from personal experience what concerns autistic people and what they have to contend with. He shares this in his Kosmos Kind lecture.

Matthias Huber works at the counselling centre of the Child and Autism Foundation in Urdorf. The psychologist knows from his own experience how autistic children and young people experience the world: he himself has Asperger's syndrome and can therefore empathise with the mental and emotional world of those affected. In addition to his therapeutic work, Matthias Huber also lectures on autism spectrum disorders, giftedness and disability in Switzerland and abroad.

Matthias Huber worked for many years as a psychologist in diagnostics at the UPD University Hospital in Bern. Today, as a consultant and speaker, he helps people with and without autism to better understand the world of «others».

Lecture from 4 July 2023 (59:30 min): «Autistic people are constantly busy trying to figure out what their environment expects of them.» In his lecture, the psychologist uses specific situations from his own childhood to describe the peculiarities in perception, thinking, behaviour and learning in autistic children. What are the consequences of this and how can misunderstandings be avoided, especially in the school environment?
