The new «Cosmos Child» lectures 2025

Oskar Jenni, how do you experience the mothers and fathers who come to you for a consultation at Zurich Children's Hospital?

Many people go to great lengths to be perfect parents and at the same time feel insecure: Are we really doing everything right? They want to give their child the best possible development and equip them for the challenges of life. In my experience, parents gain confidence and serenity when they feel well and comprehensively informed. Unfortunately, there is often not enough time for this in a consultation, which is why our academy has created «Kosmos Kind».

The "Kosmos Kind" format fulfils the need of many people for comprehensible and at the same time well-founded knowledge transfer on childhood topics.

Is the lecture series aimed exclusively at parents?

From the outset, we have attached great importance to the fact that, in addition to everyday recommendations, the lectures also offer insights into current research and shed light on the scientific or clinical background of a topic. This is why many professionals from the therapeutic and educational fields also attend the events.

And what makes us very happy is that they often recommend our video platform to parents and colleagues, where you can watch almost all of our presentations since 2020 in full length. The Kosmos Kind videos have already achieved over 53,000 views, and that shows: This format fulfils the need of many people for understandable and at the same time well-founded knowledge transfer on childhood topics.

Eleven lectures are on the programme for 2025. What are you particularly looking forward to?

First and foremost, I am delighted that we have once again been able to attract highly renowned experts. Some of them, such as Ursula Immenschuh, Oliver Dierssen and Fabian Grolimund, are already familiar to Fritz+Fränzi readers from interviews and columns. And the range of topics is also very exciting and diverse: it covers the challenges of puberty and crises in adolescence, coping with school anxiety, successful learning strategies and bereavement counselling for children.
