Editor-in-chief Nik Niethammer talks about the most important topics in the May issue in the cover film.

Insulted, excluded, humiliated: Bullying is a trauma for every young person - especially when it happens online and in social networks. Studies show that one in four young people have already been the victim of cyberbullying . In May, the Elternsein foundation, publisher of the Swiss parents' magazine Fritz+Fränzi, is launching a campaign against online harassment: Under the title «When words hurt», the foundation wants to sensitise children and young people to how much suffering they can cause with a disparaging
a disparaging comment, an insulting line or a quickly typed threat can cause. Cyberbullying is also one of our focal points in the May issue. We spoke to those affected and experts.
180 000! In words: one hundred and eighty thousand. Fritz+Fränzi now has almost as many readers as Weltwoche. This is according to the latest Mach Basic readership study by WEMF. The study reveals many losers - and one winner: the Swiss parents' magazine. A whopping 17 per cent more readers read our magazine in the period from September 2015 to September 2016 - a considerable increase in readership at a time when information on paper is being consumed less and less. We are extremely proud and thank you very much for your trust.

Two thirds of all parents say that they are regularly plagued by self-doubt , even though they do their best every day. Early childhood education is particularly challenging and unsettling for fathers and mothers. Starting kindergarten is a turning point - for the parents as well as for the child. We want to take this into account with our new Kindergarten magazine, which will be published for the first time in mid-August. We want to accompany parents and their children as they enter the school system; we want to help mums and dads feel secure and be able to resist the social pressure for perfection a little. We want them to develop a strong self-image and thus be able to practise more relaxed parenting. That they realise that they don't have to be perfect, but that good enough is good enough. For them and their children.
After 2015 and 2016, this issue once again includes a special issue on career choices. On 68 pages, we look at the impact of digitalisation on our jobs, show that supposedly less attractive professions in particular offer the best prospects and accompany young people (and their parents) on their way into working life.
Yours sincerely - Nik Niethammer
