Even the journey to the Albula Pass is an experience: the Rhaetian Railway takes you from Bergün up to Preda at 1789 metres above sea level in a quarter of an hour via helical tunnels and viaducts with fantastic views. Then it's off: the secured pass road alternates between leisurely and fast sections, with numerous hairpin bends and hairpin bends to negotiate. After 6 kilometres you reach Bergün (1367 m above sea level). And if in doubt, pack your sledge straight back into the next train for the next journey.

... Jaun in the canton of Fribourg is the right place for you if you want to experience the snow and pull the sledge until the descent is steep enough. A four-seater chairlift takes you to the Gastlosen mountain station at 1580 metres above sea level. After a half-kilometre walk, you are at the start of the toboggan run. The 6-kilometre descent to the village of Jaun, 550 metres below, has some forest passages, but also offers views of a beautiful mountain landscape.

... Sporty sledging can also be enjoyed above Beatenberg on the panoramic sledging trail from Niederhorn at 1963 metres above sea level to Vorsass (1581 metres above sea level). M. to Vorsass (1581). The 3-kilometre run takes around half an hour and offers views over Lake Thun and the peaks of the Bernese Oberland. If there is enough snow, the journey can be extended down to Beatenberg over rather flat terrain.

Something for all-round connoisseurs: after the cable car ride from Grindelwald to First (2166 metres above sea level), you can hike up to the Faulhorn (2680 metres above sea level) in two and a half hours. From there it's a varied 15-kilometre sledge run down to Grindelwald (1034 m above sea level). From Bussalp, however, it is important to be aware of the oncoming Postbus traffic.
