Alphabet soup in your head
Prof. Dr Silvia Brem is a neuroscientist and assistant professor at the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the Psychiatric University Hospital in Zurich. She is also a member of the board of the Swiss Dyslexia Association.
Lecture from 12.04.2022 (49:00 min): In every school class there is a child who has major problems learning to read and write; too often this is not recognised or is recognised too late. What do we know today about the neurological causes of a reading and spelling disorder? In her lecture, Silvia Brem explains, among other things, how to recognise the first signs of dyslexia and gives an insight into what happens in the brain when learning to read.
