Adi and Jess, part 2: How can you memorise text content?
Whether it's history, biology, geography, economics and law or vocational subjects, we very often have to be able to read and understand texts and summarise the most important points. Many young people learn for such subjects using the worst possible strategy: they read the texts through several times in the hope that enough knowledge will «stick».
Effective learning looks different: In order to memorise content, we not only have to read the material, we have to link it. We do this by reproducing what we have read in our own words, enriching it with examples and visualisations and thinking about what questions could be asked about the topics covered.
In the new episode of Adi and Jess, psychologists Stefanie Rietzler and Fabian Grolimund show us how to use these simple but effective learning strategies.
