A weekend in the Haslital
The Haslital region is characterised by its family-friendliness, wide range of leisure activities and sense of tradition. An excursion into the magical mountain world of the eastern Bernese Oberland is not only worthwhile for dwarf fans.
Experience
The colourful wooden balls roll and clatter their way through channels, tunnels and funnels, and exclamations of amazement and children's laughter can be heard again and again: The ball trail has been a particularly popular highlight for children since the 2019 summer season. The hiking trail runs across lush alpine meadows and through shady forests from the Bidmi middle station to the valley station in Hasliberg Reuti.
Two exciting Muggestutz dwarf trails tell of the adventures of the oldest Hasli dwarf and his friends and offer new discoveries year after year. In their footsteps, hikers of all ages immerse themselves in another world and explore the mythical atmosphere of the dwarves and the beauty of nature.
With views of the Eiger, Mönch and the Wetterhorn group, the whole family can take the cable car to the starting point of the adventure trails in Mägisalp or Käserstatt. The hiking time from Mägisalp to Bidmi or Käserstatt to Lischen is around two hours. The trails lead gently downhill across alpine meadows, high moors and through fir forests.

The Muggestutz dwarf playground at Bidmi station will open in autumn 2022. The fifth volume of Susanna Schmid-Germann's popular Muggestutz book series will also be published at the same time.
On beautiful mountain summer days, a descent on the scooter bike from Mägisalp to Bidmi or on the monster scooter from Käserstatt to Lischen is a pleasure with fresh mountain air in your face.
Hire of single scooter bike (incl. helmet): Adults 12 Fr., children 7 Fr. Monster scooter: Adults 15 Fr., children 9 Fr.
Enjoy
The Hasliberg sun terrace invites you to linger. At 2250 metres above sea level with a view of 401 mountain peaks, a rich breakfast buffet is served daily in summer - a perfect start to the day. The buffet includes delicacies from the surrounding Alps.
The Käserstatt mountain restaurant, newly built in 2020, also treats its guests to regional specialities. From there, the pleasure trail invites you to walk, linger and enjoy on a 1.5-kilometre circular hike. Every Sunday, the mountain restaurant offers a lavish Sunday brunch.

All catering establishments offer different variations of the family pot especially for families. Typical dishes such as Älplermagronen or Ghackets mit Hörnli at family-friendly prices will satisfy even the hungriest of appetites.
The varied hiking trail from the Alpen tower panorama restaurant to Engstlenalp is a special treat. The approximately three-and-a-half-hour hike leads over the Balmeregghorn and along the Tannen lake to the idyllic Engstlenalp. From there, the Engstlenalp bus takes guests back to the starting point.
