Enjoy ...

... Quinten lies at the foot of the steep Churfirsten mountains on a small promontory in Lake Walen. The mighty mountain range protects this village with its 50 or so inhabitants from the cold north winds. Grapes grow in this almost Mediterranean climate, as well as figs, kiwis and other tropical fruits. The car-free village at 434 metres above sea level can only be reached on foot or by boat. The hiking trail that starts in Weesen and crosses the Walensee Riviera just above water level is popular and accessible almost all year round. It is partly carved into the rock and partly leads through tunnels. Later on, the trail climbs quite steeply, and surefootedness is required on the descent. After around three and a half hours, you will reach Quinten with its two restaurants Seehus and Schifflände.
Hike Weesen-Quinten: Length 10.5 km, ascent/descent 487 m each.

... Lake Walen is not one of the warmest lakes, but it is also an inviting place to linger by the water. For example, at the Lago Mio bathing area just outside Weesen on the road to Quinten, with sunbathing lawns, WC, open-air shower, restaurant with sun terrace, barbecue pits right on the lakeshore, beach volleyball court, boat hire. Access to the lake is via stone steps. Or at Betlis, a facility with sunbathing lawns, shady trees, benches, WC, barbecue areas directly on the lakeshore, access to the lake via stone steps. And in Weesen itself there is the Flihorn natural bathing beach. It is located on the delta of the Flybach stream, has pebble beaches and a small island, sunbathing lawns, raft with slide, changing rooms and WC, barbecue area directly on the lakeshore.
These three bathing areas are open to the public and accessible free of charge at all times. Lago Mio: The restaurant is open from mid-March to the end of October. lago-mio.ch. Betlis: The road to Betlis has only one lane and is open at certain times.
