Our weekend in Arosa

Arosa offers awide range of fun activities for the whole family, even away from the slopes. The parenting magazine Fritz+Fränzi has put together the best tips for you.

Experience ...

For a good two years now, theUrdenbahnhas linked the ski areas of Arosa and Lenzerheide into a single arena that ranks among the ten largest winter sports areas in Switzerland. For you and your family, the 225 kilometres of slopes are probably not the main attraction. But simply visiting this state-of-the-art cable car is impressive, and a ride on it even more so. Take theHörnli-Express from Innerarosaupto the Hörnlihütteand enjoy the cosy atmosphere and the view there. Right next door is the Urdenbahn station: the 1.7-kilometre cable car ride over to the Lenzerheide side takes about four minutes. Single tickets are not available, but they are included, for example, in the day hiking pass.

Enjoy ...

At 2,653 metres above sea level, the Weisshorn offers a fascinating panoramic view. And you can also enjoy this indoors at the Weisshorngipfel mountain restaurant thanks to the 360° Demoscope window, for example on a Sunday morning during the «Buure Z’Morga». And then off to the slopes! – or would you like to put that newly gained energy straight back into action with your children? A ten-kilometre hiking trail would be ideal. It leads past the Sattelhütte, which serves refreshments, back to Arosa in about two and a half hours. Neither of those? Then perhaps take the cable car back to the middle station and from there sledge down to Innerarosa. You’ll need to bring your own sledge, though.
