Why helping should not be a question
Hundreds of thousands of people in Switzerland suffer from income poverty. It has never been easier to do good than with «2x Christmas».
Many people in Switzerland are also affected by income poverty. It doesn't take much to help. It is often the simple things that are lacking. Hygiene products in particular place a heavy burden on the budgets of people living in poverty. The aim is to alleviate the plight of people living in poverty in Switzerland with long-lasting food and personal hygiene products.
The bare essentials are the most important
«2x Christmas» was launched in 1997 by Swiss Post and the Swiss Red Cross (SRG SSR and Coop are also involved today). Donation parcels containing urgently needed goods can be posted free of charge at Swiss Post branches and partner branches from 24 December to 11 January.
And if you don't have the time or the opportunity to visit a branch, you can simply have the parcel collected from your home free of charge with pick@home. A personal collection appointment can be arranged online at post.ch/2xweihnachten. The goods are later distributed to hostels, women's shelters, asylum organisations, parishes and more.

What belongs in the parcel?
Only long-life food and personal hygiene products are in demand, such as
- Cosmetic articles such as baby hygiene articles and hygiene articles made of paper or cotton wool
- Dental hygiene articles (toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.)
- Food in tubes, bags, tetra (e.g. mayo, mustard, hash browns in bags, sauces in tetra packs, soups in bags, etc.)
- Tinned and jarred food (e.g. ravioli, fruit, vegetables etc.)
- Flour, rice
- Oil and vinegar
- Everything for breakfast, such as jam, honey, muesli, oatmeal, cocoa powder, etc.

Online package as an alternative
Instead of putting together a parcel, you can donate an online parcel on «2 x Christmas» . The online donations will help people affected by poverty in Armenia, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Kyrgyzstan and Moldova to survive the harsh winter months.
