To mark the 25th anniversary of Fritz+Fränzi, we are opening our digital archive. Read the first issue of our magazine, published on 3 September 2001, which focuses on the topic of «Children at risk of poverty».

On 27 March 2001, something remarkable happened: Ellen Ringier, a doctor of law and wife of publisher Michael Ringier, established the non-profit foundation Elternsein (Parenting). Five years ago, on the occasion of the foundation's 20th anniversary, the mother of two recalled how she had asked herself what Switzerland really needed to help families.

«I wanted to support parents in their parenting skills and tasks and to create an understanding in society of what it means to raise children.» In September 2001, the first issue of Fritz+Fränzi was published, «my printed social project,» as Ellen Ringier affectionately called her parenting guide.

Now we are celebrating our 25th anniversary this year and have rummaged through our archives to mark the occasion: browse through the very first issue of Fritz+Fränzi from 3 September 2001 here. Incidentally, the 84-page magazine cost 4 Swiss francs at the time .
