The weekend is just around the corner - how about a treasure hunt for the whole family? We reveal our tips for a short trip to Liechtenstein.

Excellent hiking opportunities, falcon shows and a treasure hunt - the Principality of Liechtenstein has a lot to offer.

... Would you like to hike in the company of an eagle? You have this unique opportunity in the Liechtenstein mountain village of Malbun. Together with falconer Norman Vögeli and the female golden eagle, you can take the chairlift from Malbun to Sareis and marvel at the flying skills of the king of the skies as you hike leisurely downhill. It will be an impressive experience for you and your children to be so close when the almost 90-centimetre-long bird with a wingspan of over two metres takes off or lands again. If this type of bird fascinates your family, you will also love the birds of prey show at Norman Vögeli's Galina falconry.
Eagle experience hike: Spring to autumn daily except Mondays at 4 pm. Duration approx. 90 minutes. Book early. Other times and dates on request. ... You don't just have to watch, you have to get active on the treasure hunt in Vaduz with the Detective Trail app or with the treasure map. The first puzzle has to be solved at the starting point and then the actual search begins. The detective badger on the app guides your family from one riddle to the next in the Vaduz pedestrian zone. As you follow the clues and clues, you will pass many places of interest. If you find the correct code for the treasure chest with the puzzle solutions, you will receive a small instant prize.

Start and finish at the Liechtenstein Centre in Vaduz. You will need around two hours to complete the five-kilometre course without a break. Open daily from 9 am to 6 pm until 31 October 2017. ... A four-seater chairlift takes your family from Malbun up to Sareis (2003 metres above sea level). In the mountain restaurant with its rustic parlour, you can enjoy local specialities such as Käsknöpfle with apple sauce, Rheintaler Ribelmais or classic dishes. You can also enjoy a magnificent mountain panorama on the sun terrace. For the way back on foot, follow the ridge path to the Sareiserhöhe (2010 m above sea level). Here you can opt for the direct route or the approximately four-hour longer and more challenging route via Augstenberg, Bettlerjoch/Pfälzerhütte, Alp Gritsch, Tälihöhi to Malbun.

Enjoy a typical Buurazmorga - for example at the Bangshof.

... At the Bangshof farm in Ruggell, you can enjoy a rich buffet under shady trees every Sunday in fine weather until the end of August. There's plenty for children to marvel at on the farm, and children's tractors are also available. The farm is located at the entrance to the Ruggeller Riet, a peaty landscape with rare birds, many insects and harmless reptiles. With a bit of luck, you may also spot beavers or at least their castles during the hike.
