On the death of Ruth Fritschi
«Nothing is more important than a child developing a good sense of themselves». With these words, Ruth Fritschi greeted the readers of the first Fritz+Fränzi kindergarten booklet «Schöne Schulzeit» in spring 2016.

Ruth Fritschi has been a member of the LCH Executive Board since 2010 and President of the Cycle 1 Level Commission. As «Switzerland's top kindergarten teacher», she has been particularly committed to early education and special needs education.
«Ruth Fritschi was a wonderful person,» says Thomas Schlickenrieder, Managing Director of Stiftung Elternsein, «helpful, reliable, passionate. Her cheerful nature and her kind, honest manner were unrivalled. Ruth Fritschi supported us significantly in setting up the Fritz+Fränzi kindergarten programme. Not only we, but all parents of kindergarten children, are eternally grateful to her.»
We will never forget a kick-off meeting at the end of 2015, in which the experienced educator presented numerous topics for parents of kindergarten children, all of which we later implemented in our booklets.
On 25 October, we celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Elternsein Foundation and the Swiss parenting magazine Fritz+Fränzi at the Kulturpark Zürich. Ruth Fritschi was among the 80 invited guests. She visibly enjoyed the evening. As she said goodbye, she said: «You never know how much time you have left.»
Three weeks later, Ruth Fritschi died unexpectedly at the age of 55. We are deeply saddened and can hardly believe her sudden death. Our thoughts are with her family and colleagues at the LCH.
Dear Ruth Fritschi, we miss you!
